Description

Each year, we like to check in with nonprofits and their agency colleagues to take the temperature of the public lands retail sector. As the summer progresses, we all know that retail sales ebb and flow, but in 2022 there seem to have been numerous mitigating factors. We heard a mixed report on how sales were going in 2022 compared to 2021 (holding steady for some, up for others, and surprisingly down for some).

In this informal web chat, we discussed the 2022 summer’s progress, trends, employee observations, and other factors that affected how retail outlets around the country were faring…and how this information was used to make adjustments in the short term and plan for the coming year.
