Advancing Your Public Lands Career: PLA’s Education Pathways with Indiana State University

When:  May 28, 2026 from 02:00 PM to 03:00 PM (ET)

Discover how the Public Lands Alliance Preferred Partner Agreement with Indiana State University can help you turn your on‑the‑ground public lands experience into affordable, career‑advancing credentials. This webinar is designed for employees of nonprofit partner organizations that support the National Park Service, Bureau of Land Management, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, U.S. Forest Service, and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers—including interpretive rangers, volunteer managers, program directors, fundraisers, development officers, retail managers, human resource managers, COOs, CFOs, CEOs, executive directors, among others.

Speakers from Indiana State University will provide a 30,000‑foot overview of online and on‑campus options such as Public Lands & Recreation Administration, the LEAD bachelor’s degree with a Public Lands Philanthropy & Advocacy concentration, the MPA with Nonprofit Leadership and Public Policy concentrations, the MBA with Nonprofit Leadership concentration, and related certificates in Public Lands and Recreation Administration, Nonprofit Leadership, and Civic Leadership. The speakers will highlight the online Bachelor of Science in Leadership and Professional Development (LEAD), which is designed for individuals who have earned 75 or more undergraduate credits and now wish to complete a bachelor’s degree. The program is ideal for working adults who need a flexible, fast-paced, online degree program that recognizes their prior education and work experience. You will also learn how to leverage the Preferred Partner benefits—in‑state tuition regardless of geographic location, 15% additional tuition discount, no application fees, and credit for prior learning—to save time and money while completing a degree or stackable certificates that align with your current role and future goals.

The session will conclude with clear next steps and an invitation to schedule a one‑on‑one virtual advising appointment with any of the webinar speakers to review your prior learning, certifications, and transfer credits and map out a personalized pathway to finish your bachelor’s degree or to finally start your master’s degree. Come ready with your questions about eligibility, program fit, and how to verify qualifying employment through the Preferred Partner Agreement.
