NPS has released for public comment draft guidance and authorization form necessary to implement the Checkout Counter Donation Program (Director's Order 21: Section 4.5.3). The program consolidates both the guest donation program conducted by concessioners and the checkout counter round-up program used by cooperating associations. PLA hosted this online presentation / discussion to help develop a community response to the revised guidance that PLA will transmit to NPS on behalf of its membership. The draft guidance is available at https://parkplanning.nps.gov/checkoutguidelines, and partners may submit their comments through March 23, 2020.
