Registration Cancellations

Attendees (Full, Daily, Companion): All cancellations and refund requests must be made in writing by January 8, 2027. A refund of registration fees, minus a $100 administrative fee, will be given for cancellations received by that date (including cancellations of unpaid attendees). No refunds will be granted for requests made after January 8, 2027. Submit all cancellation requests to the PLA Registrar. Registrations made after January 8, 2027, are nonrefundable.

Exhibitors: Cancellations to all or part of your registration must be made in writing to PLA’s President and CEO no later than December 15, 2026. A $500 cancellation fee will be charged. No refunds will be processed after this date. Questions? Contact tradeshow@publiclandsalliance.org. 

Field Trips and Optional Event Ticket Cancellations 

A refund, minus a 20% administrative fee, will be given for cancellations received by January 28, 2027 (including cancellations of unpaid attendees). No refunds will be granted for the cancellation of field trips and optional event tickets made after January 8, 2027. Submit all cancellation requests by January 8, 2027, to the PLA Registrar. Field trip and optional event tickets purchased after January 8, 2027, are nonrefundable.

Inclement Weather

Registration refunds will not be provided due to inclement weather. If weather conditions prohibit you from traveling, PLA will not provide a refund of your registration fee nor any travel expenses incurred. 

Transfers

Registrations may be transferred to another person. The individual submitting the transfer request is responsible for all financial obligations (any balance due) associated with that transfer. Badge sharing, splitting, and reprints are strictly prohibited. Please contact the PLA Registrar as soon as possible about the change. 

Waiver of Liability

By registering for and participating in the 2027 Public Lands Alliance Convention and Trade Show (“PLA 2027”), I agree to the following:

  • Assumption of Risk: I am aware that participating in the Event involves certain risks, including but not limited to the possible infection from communicable viruses and diseases, personal injury, and property damage. Risk of exposure may result from the actions, omissions, or negligence of others who may attend PLA 2027 or their families, colleagues, or others with whom they may have contact. I voluntarily assume all such risks.

  • Release of Claims: I am an adult participant (18 years or older) and understand that there are inherent risks in attending PLA 2027. I, on behalf of myself and my heirs, executors, administrators, successors, and assigns, hereby release, waive, and forever discharge Public Lands Alliance, its officers, directors, employees, agents, representatives, and affiliates, from any and all claims, liabilities, demands, actions, causes of action, costs, and expenses, whether at law or in equity, whether known or unknown, arising out of or in connection with my participation in PLA 2027.

  • Indemnification: I agree to indemnify and hold Public Lands Alliance harmless from any injury, illness, loss, liability, damage, cost, or expense (including reasonable attorneys' fees) incurred as a result of any claims, demands, actions, or other proceedings arising out of my participation in PLA 2027.

  • Photography and Videography: I grant Public Lands Alliance the right to take photographs and/or videos of me during PLA 2027 and to use such materials for promotional and marketing purposes.

  • Other: I agree to comply with all procedures and participation requirements that may be implemented by the Hilton Daytona Beach Oceanfront Resort, the Ocean Center Convention Center, and other event venues.

    Registering for this event means you are agreeing to the Waiver of Liability Clause and fully understand its terms. You also acknowledge that you are giving up substantial legal rights by agreeing to it, and do so freely and voluntarily without any inducement.

Code of Conduct

The Public Lands Alliance (PLA) is committed to providing a safe, inclusive, and respectful environment for all PLA 2027 participants. 

By registering and participating in this event, you agree to abide by the following Code of Conduct:

  • Respect and Inclusivity Treat all attendees, speakers, organizers, and staff with kindness, respect, and consideration, regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disability, age, religion, or other protected characteristics. Discussion of opposing or different viewpoints is appropriate but is expected to be conducted in a respectful tone and manner that avoids personal attacks.

  • Harassment-Free Zone:  Harassment, intimidation, discrimination, and verbal, physical, or sexual abuse are unacceptable. Conduct that is harmful or offensive, damages the reputation of others, or undercuts public respect and support for PLA will not be tolerated. Hate speech, discrimination, or offensive language targeting any individual or group will not be tolerated.

  • Consent and Boundaries: Always ask for consent before taking photos, recording, or engaging in physical contact with others. Respect personal boundaries and individual comfort levels.

  • Emergency Situations: In the event of an emergency, contact local authorities immediately and then notify a PLA staff member. Familiarize yourself with the venue's emergency exits and procedures.

  • Reporting Incidents:  If you witness or experience a violation of this Code of Conduct, please report it to a PLA staff member or a PLA Registration Desk representative at 301-946-9475 ext. 1.

  • Consequences for Violations:  Anyone asked to stop unacceptable behavior is expected to comply immediately. Violations of this Code of Conduct may result in a warning, expulsion from PLA 2027, the convention without warning or refund, or involvement of local law enforcement, depending on the severity of the infraction. PLA also reserves the right to prohibit participation in any future PLA event.
