Any organization’s most precious resource is its staff, the people who make the organization “go.” Yet, that resource is sometimes overlooked when it comes to engagement, development and retention. In this series, created in partnership with human resources professionals at Eastern National, we’ll begin by looking at three areas of import in the HR field. Following the initial three sessions, we’ll turn it over to our members and other public lands professionals to help us select topics. Join us as we strive to improve our collective HR practices heading into PLA 2023.

Part 1: Post-Pandemic Recruiting and Onboarding

In an overtly unstable labor market, hiring managers are facing many challenges. This session will offer solutions on attracting and securing candidates within our public lands. We will expand on creative recruiting solutions from connecting to talent via social media platforms to attending or organizing job fairs. Once talent is acquired, the onboarding process serves to safeguard retention. Participants will be provided with sample checklists, guides, and resources to assist with successfully connecting the new employee to the team and organization.

Cost:
