The Public Lands Alliance (PLA) is proud to welcome three accomplished leaders to its Board of Directors, each representing a long-time PLA member organization and bringing a deep understanding of the public lands partnership community.
The new directors join the Board at an important moment for PLA. As the organization approaches its 50th anniversary and begins developing its next strategic plan, their experience and perspective will help guide PLA’s next chapter while building on five decades of partnership, advocacy, and service to the nonprofit organizations that strengthen America’s public lands.
“As PLA looks toward our next 50 years, it’s especially meaningful to welcome three leaders who know and understand PLA from the perspective of our members,” said Andrea Ketchmark, PLA President and CEO. “They each bring a wealth of leadership experience, but just as importantly, they bring the voices and perspectives of organizations that have been part of the PLA community for many years. We’re excited to have their guidance as we shape PLA’s future and strengthen our support for the partners who make a difference on public lands every day.”
Joining the Board of Directors on September 1, 2026:
Savannah Boiano
Savannah Boiano is President and CEO of Sequoia Parks Conservancy, the official nonprofit partner of Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks and Lake Kaweah (Army Corps of Engineers). She is recognized for her strategic thinking, collaborative leadership, fiduciary stewardship, and ability to help organizations navigate change while building long-term resilience.
Savannah is most proud of working alongside dedicated staff, board members, partners, and volunteers to grow an organization that continues to expand its impact, adapt to changing circumstances, and steward some of America's most treasured public lands for future generations.
A graduate of the University of California, Santa Cruz, Savannah enjoys adventure travel with her family, backpacking, skiing, and sharing a leisurely meal with friends and colleagues.
Megan Shelley
Megan Shelley currently serves as the Chief Operating Officer at Eastern National and has over 14 years of experience with this educational nonprofit partner of the National Park Service and other public lands. Megan began her career as a schoolteacher and later continued her journey into educational retail, working in traditional and specialty retail in both the nonprofit and for-profit sectors.
Megan is a member of Chief, a private women's business networking organization for senior leaders, and a volunteer consultant for Compass Pro Bono, a nonprofit consulting firm that connects local business professionals with local nonprofits to empower thriving, equitable, and resilient communities. Megan has volunteered for PLA as a presenter, program committee member, and exhibitor for over a decade.
Megan is a graduate of Pennsylvania State University with a degree in education, a minor in history, and holds a master’s degree in Nonprofit Leadership from La Salle University. When not traveling and hiking across our parks and public lands, she enjoys cooking, attending Broadway musicals, and watching Penn State football and Phillies games.

Jacqueline Harp
Jacqueline Harp serves as the Chief Executive Officer at Smokies Life, supporting the scientific, historical, and interpretive activities of Great Smoky Mountains National Park by providing educational products and services to park visitors. Smokies Life is a nonprofit cooperating association and, as such, is one of the National Park Service’s oldest and most enduring partnerships.
Jacqueline joined Smokies Life in fall 2024 after 18 years at REI Co-op in various roles, most recently as its regional director for the southeastern United States. Raised in East Tennessee, she is a lifelong advocate for Great Smoky Mountains National Park and an outdoor enthusiast who completed the Southern Appalachian Naturalist Certificate Program at Great Smoky Mountains Institute at Tremont. She also serves on the board of Nashville-based TennGreen Land Conservancy and is board chair of Chattanooga-based Lookout Mountain Conservancy.
